Ueno Park in Tokyo's Taito Ward was designed to emulate the public parks of the West with large, open spaces and points of interest such as lakes and museums. The park occupies the former site of the Kaneiji Shrine. Here, we see a lady enjoying the park's lake, with the Kaneiji Shrine's five-story pagoda standing proudly in the background.
