The Yumoto Hot Spring is located in Nikko National Park and next to Lake Yunoko and its complex of hot springs. In this design printed during Shiro Kasamatsu's collaboration with Kyoto-based publisher Unsodo, A woman strolls down a street in the evening during Spring after a rain. The blues and greens gives this woodblock print a wonderful cast. The light cast on the ground is masterfully printed.

Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991) began his artistic career during the shin-hanga period and would go on to produce some of Japan's most recognizable woodblock prints. Starting in second-half of the 20th century, Shiro would go on to carve, print, and publish his own prints, making him an influential artist in the sosaku-hanga movement as well.
