Shin-Hanga

Hasui Kawase, "Kinosaki in Tajima"
Pickup currently unavailable
Kinosaki and its canal is shown in the evening in a heavy rain. The composition is atmospheric, almost noir-like, with spots of light piercing through the darkness in the composition. The woodblock print is a departure from Hasui's typically colorful designs. A rare early-edition with series title printed in left margin.
