Shin-Hanga

Koyama Senkai, "Moonlit Lake"
Pickup currently unavailable
This rarely seen work by little-known artist Koyama Senkai was printed by Watanabe Shozaburo as a "pilot" as Senkai sought publishers for his works at the height of the shin-hanga boom in the early 20th century. A beautifully produced woodblock print with expert use of light to convey a full moonlit night on a lake. This design is only one of four published for the artist and was produced in very small quantities making it an exceptional collector's item.
