Katsushika Hokusai, "Stirrups of Musashi" Ehon

Hokusai's "Ehon Musashi Abumi" (The Stirrups of Musashi Illustrated) is a collection of drawings highlighting warriors and folk heroes from Chinese and Japanese history. Original editions of this rare work can be found bound as a single volume or as two, as is available here. Almost all of the designs span two pages, some oriented vertically, and are intricately detailed throughout. This set of illustrations comprise a trilogy of warrior drawings completed by Hokusai, including the Wakan Ehon Sakigake and Ehon Wakan no Homare.
