    A quiet work showing a frog meditating while looking at a bamboo aqueduct feeding water into a pond. The printing is brushlike in the absence of key block lines throughout.

    Condition: Some soiling, otherwise very good condition and color

    Ogata Gekko (1859-1920) was one of the Meiji-periods most important woodblock print artists. Self-taught, Gekko produced a number of war prints celebrating Japan's military victories in China and Russia, as well as series works of Japanese history and culture, and of nature.
