A simple design showing wasps congregating on a vine growing warty gourds. Beautifully printed gradations to show the colorful skin of the gourds.

Ogata Gekko (1859-1920) was one of the Meiji-periods most important woodblock print artists. Self-taught, Gekko produced a number of war prints celebrating Japan's military victories in China and Russia, as well as series works of Japanese history and culture, and of nature.
