    Nijo Castle in Kyoto was built in 1603 as a residence for Tokugawa Ieyasu, the "great unifier" of Japan's Edo-period. Here we see Nijo Castle under moonlight, with reflections shimmering in the moat and deep blue evening tones characteristic of Koitsu’s atmospheric style.
