Tsuchiya Koitsu, "Banyu River, Spring"

The Banyu River is a historical designation for a section of the Sagami River near Hiratsuka, and traverses through Kanagawa and Yamanashi Prefectures. Here we see Mt. Fuji at peak springtime with a blossoming cherry tree in the foreground.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a student of Kobayashi Kiyochika whose landscape prints are widely regarded and coveted by collectors today.
