Tsuchiya Koitsu, "Ohmi Katata Ukimido Shrine"

This exceptional and rare woodblock print by Koitsu shows Ukimido Shrine cast in light from a full moon on a clear evening. Ukimido is located on the Western shore of Lake Biwa outside the city of Otsu in Shiga Prefecture.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a student of Kobayashi Kiyochika whose landscape prints are widely regarded and coveted by collectors today.
