In this first-edition printing of a work by Benji Asada, the pagoda at Kiyomizu is shown at night after a rainy downpour under a bright full moon, which casts its light throughout the composition. Two visitors are shown wandering the temple grounds while food stalls on the left await their next customer. Beautifully printed.

Benji Asada (1899-1984) was a Kyoto-based painter and printmaker who, while did not gain much prominence as an artist, does standout for his works showing famous places throughout Japan. Most of his works were published in partnership with Uchida.
