Paul Jacoulet, "Blue: Portrait of a Chamorro Woman"
Pickup currently unavailable
Paul Jacoulet's series "Seven Women of the South Seas" was printed in a "rainbow" of seven different palettes for each design and pays homage to the indigenous women of the Marianna Islands. Printed in only a small edition of 150 each, it was Jacoulet's first print series produced in his life and career as an artist. Each design is printed with extraordinary attention to detail.
In this "blue" design, a woman sits on card table in a dress adorned with floral patterns. The spots of yellow from her jewelry and the flowers behind her are the only bright spots in the composition.
