Tsuchiya Koitsu, "Fuji from Lake Shoji"
Pickup currently unavailable
One of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Shoji is located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko in southern Yamanashi Prefecture. In this exquisitely printed design by Koitsu, Mount Fuji looms over the lake and a boat on a calm, warm day. Beautifully applied bokashi (gradation) printing applied throughout the design gives this work a luminescence not found in other works by Koitsu. A very rare first edition printing by Doi Sadaichi.
