Shin-Hanga
Hasui Kawase, "Eitaibashi"
Pickup currently unavailable
The Eitai Bridge spans the Sumida River in Tokyo. The original wooden bridge was built in 1698, but was later destroyed in 1807 and then again in the 1923 Kanto Earthquake. Here we see the Eitai Bridge not long after being rebuilt as a steel structure. A modern trolley makes its way across the bridge with other pedestrians. This scarce woodblock print comes from a later edition printing from the original woodblocks.
