The Goshikigahara wilderness area in Gifu is located on the volcanic slopes of Mount Norikura in the Japanese Alps. In this later edition, posthumous printing, imposing clouds loom over the mountains while a lone camper makes a fire.

Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) is regarded as one of the most important shin-hanga period artists and often carved and printed his own works. His landscapes of Japan are known throughout the world, as are his prints of other countries such as Europe, the United States, and South Asia.
