Himeji Castle dates to the 14th century and is located Hyogo Prefecture. It is one of Japan's most famous castles. This later-edition (stamp-signed) printing has a more subdued effect in the sky compared to his "Evening" variant. A posthumous printing overseen by Hiroshi's son, Toshi Yoshida.

Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) is regarded as one of the most important shin-hanga period artists and often carved and printed his own works. His landscapes of Japan are known throughout the world, as are his prints of other countries such as Europe, the United States, and South Asia.
