A colorful work showing a group of sailors after a sudden shower. The remnants of storm clouds loom overhead. The place is unknown, but the style of clothing worn by the figures in the work suggests Southern China or Southeast Asia. A rare, first-edition printing.

Ishikawa Toraji (1875-1964) drew inspiration from Western color and composition in many of his woodblock prints while maintaining many traditional ukiyo-e elements in his technique. He is known for his "Ten Types of Female Nudes," which was very controversial when first published in the 1935.
