The famous actor Ichikawa Danjuro is shown hoisting a stone carving of Fudo Myoo in front of a waterfall. The diety Fudo Myoo is a protector of Buddhist law and always depicted wielding a sword to symbolize the battle against ignorance and a rope to corral those who are obstacles to enlightenment.
