Mount Nantai is located in Nikko National Park north of Tokyo. Here Mount Nantai overlooks Lake Chuzenji on a clear, calm evening. A very scarce woodblock print by Lilian Miller in a large size. Visible woodgrain shows through in the printing. A grand and imposing composition in a rich palette of blues.

Lilian May Miller (1895-1943) was born in Japan to American diplomats where she learned the traditional craft of Japanese woodblock printing. While eventually moving back to the United States, over the course of her short life, Miller would travel regularly and create artworks from her travels.
