    Paul Jacoulet's first woodblock print shows a young girl from Saipan in the Mariana Islands. A large, blooming hibiscus flower blooms in the background. A second edition impression with a lightly printed mica background.

    Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) was French printmaker who spent most of his life in Japan producing woodblock prints of his travels in the South Seas, Korea, Manchuria, and Japan.
