The Haguro Mountain is one of the Three Mountain of Dewa Sanzen in Yamagata Prefecture. Sitting atop Haguro Mountain is the Shinto shrine, Sanjingousaidan, which was built in 1818 in honor of the 6th century Prince Hachiko. Here, the shrine is set amidst a grove of tall trees and is designed in Morimura's signature styling using horizontal lines and perfect circles for the leaves and branches.
