Tsuchiya Koitsu, "Five Story Pagoda, Nikko"

The five-story pagoda in Nikko is a landmark and a national treasure. Here, the pagoda is shown in the midst of a snow fall. A calm and contemplative composition with beautiful blues and greens.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a student of Kobayashi Kiyochika whose landscape prints are widely regarded and coveted by collectors today.
